A close-up shot of the titanic Grass Snake - Common Toad battle. Sadly, I had to leave for an appointment, which means that the result of the contest will remain a mystery forever..

A large Grass Snake had decided to eat a large Common Toad (Bufo bufo), and possible underestimated the task ! At first, the snake's body was in a straight line across the track, but as I moved ever closer for photographs, it thrashed its body about in a bid to scare me away. As its mouth was full of toad, this was the only defence it had. .
