Hi.
I intend to go for salamander herping in January. I thought about going to Turkey to admire subspecies of Mertensiella luschani. But there is a problem because salamanders mainly live in highlands, and there in January they often hibernate, so i wouldn't see them. I dream about observing salamanders in Corsica and Sardinia but there in January probably salamanders will be hibernating too. So could You tell me where is the best to go for salamanders herping in January? Maybe to Greek Islands like Karpathos?
