I hope you will not mind that I will touch upon a region (Southern Turkey) that is not strictly in Europe.

So I went there last month and I photographed a few amphibians and reptiles. I'll start with these ones depicting three individuals that I think must belong to the same species. They were found close to one another in or by a very slow-flowing stream that was even dry at some points (near Aspendos 21.5.2010).

They look like Pelophylax but which one (ridibundus, bedriagae)? How many species in this genus are found in Turkey? And what would be the criteria to distinguish them?
