Is this a Montpellier

Hi folks,
As you see I am a new menmber and in need of help. I am new to herping (4 years in Spain)but very keen to catch up a bit. I found this snake yesterday run over by a car. It was just over a meter long and has what appear to me to be tiny "fangs", thorn sized , well back in its mouth.
Is this a Montpellier? Thanks for your help.

Thanks for the prompt reply.
I am really a birder so my knowledge of herps is limited.
What is the Montpellier called nowadays then?
Did the pics come out large enough? I am having some trouble knowing if I am doing the correct things with this site.

The photos were very small, on this site you can find how to put them on better, the name is: Montpellier Snake, Malpolon monspessulanus.
In the list of species you can see photos of every species, so you can compare.
