Hi there,

This satruday we had some very fine weather over here so we drove to a bird reserve close to the Danube. Saw some cool birds like ospreys, black storks, feruginous ducks, black woodpeckers, and even got two lifers: common firecrest and yellow-headed wagtail !

Later in the day the herps came out. First the amphibians started calling, then decided to show themselves.
Too bad we forgot the camera in the car, otherwise i could have showed you Marsh Frogs, Fire-bellied Toads, Agile Frogs an maybe even a Pool Frog...

After moving to another spot we made sure we have the camera. This sure looked snakey, but we only flipped wood mice.

Then we reached this abandoned structure:

And it delivered! No snakes here, but still a reptile; our first Green Lizard of 2010!
