A friend of mine visited the Republic of Macedonia last year in summer, he tolled me a good place near Lake Prespa, where he found dozens of Natrix tesselata, Zamenis longissimus and Vipera ammodytes. I e-mailed you the details. 

Bobby, I'm thinking maybe you shouldn't give that information in public, it's a very small area.

Also I would like to please everyone to call "FYROM" or at least "Republic of Macedonia" this country, to distinguish from the greek area and on respect to the greek members of the euroherp.com.

Yes, that´s true. But I think that it suffices to write "MK", I like use license plates of states instead of full and often long names of some countries...

I'm not a nationalist, but that issue is really sensitive, especially when territories of my country are being claimed. Anyway, I don't want to start that kind of discussion in here and maybe disagree with someone.

in June 2008 we visited the Greek side of lake Doirani. We found Pelophylax ridibundus, Hyla arborea, Podarcis tauricus, Lacerta viridis, Testudo hermanni, Emys orbicularis, Mauremys rivulata, Zamenis longissimus, Dolichophis caspius, Natrix natrix, Natrix persa and Vipera ammodytes. Just a list what you may expect on the "other side".

Thank you all for your answers, I didn't want to cause any trouble because I know the border questions are very sensitive, that's why I wrote FYR Macedonia, to be politicaly correct :)

And conserning wildlife, just some food for thought... nature knows no political borders, only people do ;)
