Pattern-wise I would go for hugyi, which also fits the snout. However, based on the picture, the snout is rather high, so latastei also sounds not too bad.

So lets try it!
The orchid seems to be Ophrys biancae, an endemit of Sicily. So it should be Vipera a. hugyi. But also, if there would be no orchid on the image, I would say hugyi, depending on snout configuration.

Mario, you're the boss! It's the right Orchid, I found this picture on a french orchid message board.

Weird Vipera aspis, isn't it? Without the locality, It would have been merely impossible to say exactly without any doubt what the species was. 

Well, now that you know the orchids, it's easy for you to be sure about the snout. ~hehe~ :-D
Wouldn't it be neat if Samuel used a vivarium animal, being aware we would judge by the orchids?

But, as I wrote, also without the orchid, I would have said hugyi.
Why?
a)For sure no ammodytes, no horn visible.
b) also no latastei. the snout should be much more pointed, and not so straight on top.
Therefore hugyi. Compare this:
