I shall be visiting the Konavle region near Dubrovnik in June and would like to know if Bombina variegata and Emys orbicularis are to be found in this area ?. This region seems to have only one river( The Ljuta )that may have suitable habitats.Has anyone visited this area and actually seen either of the two species as i cannot find any reports listing sightings. Distribution maps show both should be there.I know members do not divulge hot spots or give info on rare species and i do not expect this only that i can (or cannot)find the species in question within this large area. My visit to Lake Maggorie last year resulted in many hours looking for some species that were not there or were very scarge in that area eg.Podarcis sicula. Clive
