Macroprotodon cucullatus 'found' in Ibiza
by Matt Wilson - 1/2/2010 17h15This is the first time I have heard of Macroprotodon cucullatus reported from Ibiza, which along with Formentera is famous for having no snakes. I wonder if this is a recent arrival from Majorca or Minorca, or has simply been overlooked.
The photo on this blog clearly shows a young Algerian false smooth snake like those from elsewhere in the Balearics. The find was on a beach in May 2007.

Has anyone every heard of this snake in Ibiza before?
