The thing is this: My father in law is coming on a visit in may. He loves nature as I do, but he hates (horrified) snakes. Now, to get him out to the field when he's here I was thinking that I could take him out to find some tortoises because thats something he's VERY interested of and that way I might even combine some snakes (my intrest) to our trip. I live in a town called Botevgrad... Bulgaria, about 50km north-east from the capital, Sofia. Any Ideas what would be the nearest spot from here, where we possibly might find some of these creatures (i.e. Testudo graeca, Testudo hermanni etc.) G
