I cannot & refuse to choose ;-). Of course, in my case, you've probably seen the pics already, so sorry about that.

Different pics for different reasons.

First, a little Meadow Lizard (Darevskia praticola). A rather dull yet elegant little lizard. This picture is not even 100% sharp, but I like it, because it includes a nice characterisation of the habitat - running in dry oak leaves underneath beech leaves.

Next, a Common Tree Frog (Hyla arborea) from Crete. Shows nicely how the frog adapts to his environment of some leaves with mild chlorosis.

A turtle pic, because it's a special memory, plus I like the beach wrack (sea grasses washed ashore). Not really that special in terms of turtle photography, I guess;

Finally, a predictable beauty...

Ilias, it looks as if all four snake species had been handled prior to or during the photo sessions (perhaps with the exception of Z. longissimus which may just have retracted in a defensive posture without being captured). Is that so?

My favorites are these : sitting with my object for almost half an hour in a nice October sunshine, blending in with the landscape, watching this prehistoric fight through my 200 mm lens. After the fight, I saw the satisfied face of my object, and went to my favorite little restaurant on the beach to have my own lunch.

Sorry many of you have probably seen this photo already, but it is my favorite photo of my favorite European reptile.

And of course the time I was lucky enough to get a photo of two Dahl's whip snakes in the same frame

Jan: I absolutely agree with you: October sun and hunting lizards are the favorits. I love the following pics of Ps. hispanicus, because this species very often reacts shy (or hysteric) on the photographer. This specimen didn't feel disturbed...

It’s the superb pictures that you and the members have posted on here that have got me interested in the photographic side and I’m really looking forward to getting out there in the spring again, it would help if I had a good macro lens to get more natural shots but all in good time.

Your last picture of the viper caused me some confusion though!
My first thought was it’s a V.latastei but then I realised the head doesn’t look right for latastei, it took me some time to figure out its V.a.zinnikeri.
How would an Asp, (the more venomous of the two) benefit from looking like a lataste’s?
