I'm in the UK right now,but I spoke to my parents and they told me the weather in Bulgaria is the same! Warm and sunny! There shoud've been snow by now! I'm agree with you,that probabbly will affect reproduction of herps,as they won't be able to hibernate proparly(if at all). All I know is that when I was a kid we had 4 seasons and now they kind of become 2 and that's a bad thing!

You're right about that. Only 2 seasons the last few years... 

I have never been to Greece or anywhere in the Balkans during the winter. But I thought the weather in most lowland areas stayed relatively mild? My friends in many different parts of Greece have told me they regularly see snakes during the winter but they are always slow and not very alert at all. So that most species do not truely hibernate but just become less active and on the warmer winter days still come out to bask, hunt etc. For example here in North England, it is already very cold and not possible for any animals to be active.

When I lived in S-W France, there was some warm sunny days in December and I was able to find a couple of Malpolon monspessulanus.

Well North Greece has a long different climate than Symi or Peloponnese for example. We should have snow here already instead of this and it doesn't even rain.

When I was in the army at Tripoli (Peloponnese), one day we went for shooting and I saw a P.peloponnesiacus sunbathing and it was end of November with very cold nights, but days were warm enough. But N.Greece is much colder!
