Berner Oberland, Switzerland
by Mario Schweiger - 16/7/2009 19h46Monday, July 13th I drove to the "Berner Oberland", Kanton Bern, Switzerland.
The weather forecast was good for the next days.
But unfortunately only tuesday was good for reptiles.
Wednesday morning it started to rain (what was expected for the next days) - so I went home, only one day in the field.
But anyway, I have seen some Vipera aspis "atra".

the valley

Anguis fragilis

complete black aspis - in situ
This individual I observed for about 15 minutes. First picture I have taken, when she came out of her hiding place (while I was making pictures of the red throated, only about 2 metres away).
More pictures at my fieldherping website.
