| For the trip "Island of Kos", John Fowler said : I went to Kalymnos today on a tour , but didn't have time to look around. I'm not especially after vipers, but if it is a valuable record then I'll keep my eye open. Someone got bitten yesterday by a snake at the hotel I am staying at, I will try and get more info from the victim, but I suspect it was a large whip snake. Keep in touch if you are in Greece. I may be back here again next year, on and off. John Read report |
| For the trip "Island of Kos", Matt Wilson said : Yes I will help with an ID. If the juvenile has a red underside it is jugularis. Kos is definately not a good place to search for vipers, if they even occur there (1 record ever could have been a H.nummifer). If I were you I would get a ferry across to Kalymnos, I may go there myself next year. Im out in Symi from 13th August if you want to get across and maybe I can show you some animals. This site was created by Daniel Phillips and Matt Wilson (click for more info).
This site will not give out specific locations for any species, common or rare. This site will not show or deal with any herps albeit of European origin from a captive environment.
We need you ! If you have found this site, then you are interested in reptiles and amphibians, if you perform field trips or regularly go out and photograph the herps you see then we want you to submit photos and reports from your findings.
New features:
- It's the end ! Of pointless species browsing, you can now see how many photos we have for each species on the species page. I hope you enjoy this time-saving feature ! And take special attention to the species we don't have photos for, and plan you future trips accordingly !
- On the species page you can now search all the photos for a certain species and get a link to the field report the photo came from, this is good if you was inquiring about a certain species and wondered where other herpers found it without going through all the trip reports !
